Privacy Policy for Simply Transcribe

The short version: Simply Transcribe processes your recordings and transcripts entirely on your device. They are never uploaded, stored on our servers, or seen by us. Since version 1.1, the app collects no usage data and sends no error reports to us. The website has a separate analytics choice.

Your recordings and transcripts

• Your audio, transcripts, and anything you say to the app are processed entirely on-device and never collected or transmitted to us.
• We have no copy and no way to retrieve them, including after you delete the app.
• They stay on your iPhone unless you explicitly export them.
• You can erase app-owned audio and transcripts from Settings. Bundled language models remain installed and available offline.
• If you export or share a transcript, iOS sends it to the destination you choose. We are not involved in that transfer.

App usage and diagnostics

Since version 1.1, Simply Transcribe contains no analytics or error-reporting services. The app collects no usage data, sends no error reports to us, and has no sharing setting to configure.

Apple may provide us with crash and performance reports through its developer tools, under Apple's privacy terms and sharing controls, which you manage in your device's own settings. TestFlight beta testing has separate reporting behavior. We use these reports to fix problems. Simply Transcribe does not send its local error logs to our servers.

Versions before 1.1

Versions of Simply Transcribe released before 1.1 could — only after you chose Share App Usage & Diagnostics — send limited, content-free usage events to Firebase/Google Analytics 4 and limited technical failure reports to Bugsink. Those events never included audio, transcripts, titles, file names, or search terms. Version 1.1 and later do not contain these services and do not send app usage or diagnostics. Turning sharing off in an earlier version never deleted data already sent; retained historical app telemetry is being deleted or expired under our data-transition plan.

Optional website analytics

On simplytranscribe.app, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity load only after you select Accept in the website analytics notice. These services may process page views, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device information, and interactions with this site. We do not configure either service to receive recordings, transcript text, or other content from the app.

Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage. Select "Change website analytics choice" below to clear it and choose again.

Purchases

The one-time unlock is processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. We do not see or store your payment details.

No account required

Simply Transcribe does not require an account, sign-in, or personal information to use the app.

Children's privacy

Simply Transcribe is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect recordings or transcripts from anyone.

Changes to this policy

This policy reflects Simply Transcribe 1.1 and later. The previous policy version, last updated September 15, 2026, described the optional app analytics that versions before 1.1 could send after consent.

If this policy changes, we will update the date above.
