Privacy Policy for Simply Transcribe

The short version: Simply Transcribe processes your recordings and transcripts entirely on your device. They are never uploaded, stored on our servers, or seen by us. Separately, the app and this website can send limited, content-free analytics only after you consent.

Your recordings and transcripts

• Your audio, transcripts, and anything you say to the app are processed entirely on-device and never collected or transmitted to us.
• We have no copy and no way to retrieve them, including after you delete the app.
• They stay on your iPhone unless you explicitly export them.
• You can erase app-owned audio and transcripts from Settings. Bundled language models remain installed and available offline.
• If you export or share a transcript, iOS sends it to the destination you choose. We are not involved in that transfer.

Optional app analytics

With your consent, the app uses Google Analytics 4 through Firebase to understand whether fixed product actions succeed or fail. Nothing is sent until you make a consent choice, and turning analytics off never affects transcription.

Events can describe when a recording or transcription starts, completes, or fails; whether a feature was used; broad duration ranges; the selected language or model; and a failure reason chosen from a fixed list.

App analytics never includes:

• Transcript text, search terms, audio, or file names
• Raw error messages or crash details
• Exact durations
• A user ID, device ID, or advertising ID
• A/B testing or paywall-funnel tracking

Every app event and field comes from a closed list; the app sends no free-form values. Review or stop sharing anytime under Settings > App usage and diagnostics.

Optional website analytics

On simplytranscribe.app, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity load only after you select Accept in the website analytics notice. These services may process page views, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device information, and interactions with this site. We do not configure either service to receive recordings, transcript text, or other content from the app.

Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage. Select "Change website analytics choice" below to clear it and choose again.

Purchases

The one-time unlock is processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. We do not see or store your payment details.

No account required

Simply Transcribe does not require an account, sign-in, or personal information to use the app.

Children's privacy

Simply Transcribe is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect recordings or transcripts from anyone.

If this policy changes, we will update the date above.
